Hi, I'm Todd Tyler, a professional photographer and owner of LA Photo Spot, a headshot photography studio in Downtown Los Angeles.
I've been a professional photographer for 20 years, and I still love what I do. Whether I'm working with an actor getting ready for their next big opportunity or a business professional looking to make a great first impression, my goal is simple: create photographs that bring out your personality and help you succeed.
My Journey as a Photographer
My photography career began in Seattle, where I developed a passion for fashion photography. Inspired by the creativity I saw in fashion magazines, I decided to take a chance and move to Milan, Italy.
I spent a year and a half in Milan exploring photography, developing my style, and enjoying everything Italy had to offer.
Eventually, I made my way to Los Angeles, where I continued working in fashion and lifestyle photography.
That experience became the foundation of my approach to headshots. I learned how to use beautiful lighting, composition, color, and expression to create photographs that feel natural and capture something special about the person in front of my camera.
Today, I bring that same approach to every headshot session at LA Photo Spot.

I believe a great headshot should do more than simply make you look good.
It should communicate who you are.
For actors, that means creating compelling headshots that show your personality, your casting range, and the characters you can realistically portray.
For business professionals, it means creating polished, approachable portraits that help you make a strong first impression.
My approach is collaborative. I'll guide you through the entire session, helping with wardrobe, posing, lighting, and expressions.
You'll also get to see your photographs as we shoot, so we can make adjustments together and make sure we're capturing exactly what you need.
And don't worry if you're not comfortable in front of the camera. Helping people relax and feel confident is one of the most important parts of my job.

I love hearing their stories, learning about their goals, and helping them create headshots that support the roles they're pursuing.
At my Downtown Los Angeles studio, we work together to create natural, engaging commercial and theatrical headshots, including multiple character looks when needed.

Outside of photography, I enjoy exploring everything Los Angeles has to offer. I'm a bit of a foodie, love discovering great restaurants, and enjoy cooking, going to the beach, and playing golf.
One of my favorite things about photography is meeting interesting people from so many different backgrounds. Everybody has a story, and I enjoy getting to know the people I photograph.
After 20 years, that's still one of the things I love most about my work.
